I like the song...not sure I understand the context. The guy seems so removed from the woman, like he's watching a movie rather than a living being right in front of him.

actually,

the context of the whole thing is important.

this is an example of late Moghul culture in india. she is a courtesan (in other words, prostitute), dancing for a generic noble; his role is insignificant. The beauty is in the facial expressions.

by the way, she is one of the most celebrated indian film actresses of all time: Mina Kumari.
